First tram line in Brest
11 July 2012 - Events - France
The tramway in Brest (Brittany) was inaugurated, on schedule, on 23 June 2012. Launched in March 2010, the project was implemented by Eurovia Bretagne's offices in association with ETF-Eurovia Travaux Ferroviaires which, in a consortium with two local firms, were entrusted with all the infrastructure and track works. At their peak, the works saw up to 70 Group teams working on site. This first line boasts 27 stops along its 14.3 km-long route; it crosses the urban community of Brest from east to west, linking up the main residential and business neighbourhoods. Value of the works: 120 million euros.
