Final pairs of cables for the Russky Island and Golden Horn bridges

On 25 March 2012, Freyssinet, a Soletanche Freyssinet subsidiary (VINCI Construction), completed its installation of the 168 stay cables of the Russky Island bridge (length: 1,872 m), near Vladivostok, in the east of Russia. The final cables, 582 m in length, were attached to tower M7 (Russky Island end). Since the start of the installation operation, in late July 2011, 3,700 t of stay cables have been installed. On this project, which sets a new world record for a cable-stayed span (1,104 m), Freyssinet was charged with the design, manufacture and installation of the stay cables and dampers. In the heart of the city of Vladivostok, meanwhile, Freyssinet has also completed the installation of the 192 cables of the 1,389 m-long Golden Horn bridge (cable-stayed span: 737 m).
