5 September 2012 - New contracts - France

On 5 September 2012, on Reunion Island, the final prefabricated slab of the deck of the bridge over the Saint-Étienne River was laid on the steel frame. The 2x2-lane structure (length: 694.5 m) is being created by a consortium notably comprising Dodin Campenon Bernard, leader, and SBTPC (both VINCI Construction subsidiaries), Botte Fondations (VINCI Construction France), and Baudin Chateauneuf and Berthold for the frame. Next stage: the creation of the anchoring beams for the safety barriers.
Worth €95m including taxes, the bridge is due for handover early in 2013.
