14 September 2012 - New contracts - Canada

On 14 June 2012, Freyssinet Canada and Freyssinet Grands Projets, subsidiaries of Soletanche Freyssinet (VINCI Construction), installed the last of the 288 cables of the Port Mann road bridge in Vancouver. Freyssinet Canada has supplied and installed the cables, the damper systems, the expansion joints and the bearings. The construction of the Port Mann Bridge, providing 2x5 traffic lanes, forms part of the upgrading programme for the 40 km-long motorway link between Vancouver and Langley. Within the framework of this project, RECo Canada, a Soletanche Freyssinet subsidiary, is responsible for designing and supplying almost 33,000 sq. metres of Reinforced Earth® retaining walls and bridge abutments.
