Did you know how close we are?
10 October 2012 - Sustainability - France
This summer, the VINCI Autoroutes Foundation for Responsible Driving launched a poster campaign aimed at making drivers aware of how close to moving traffic the yellow-jacketed motorway maintenance workers have to work, and of the need for drivers to respect the safety rules when approaching worksites. In four years, three VINCI Autoroutes employees have been killed and twelve others injured as a result of accidents caused by drivers falling asleep or being distracted. In 2011, 136 service vehicles were crashed into on the French toll motorway network. Hence the VINCI Autoroutes Foundation’s increased efforts to ensure greater awareness of, and respect for, the work of the “men in yellow”.
