Diaphragm walls on Line 1 of Panama City metro
25 April 2012 - New contracts - Panamá
Contributing to the construction of Panama City’s first metro line, being undertaken by the Odebrecht-FCC consortium, Rodio Swissboring, a Soletanche Freyssinet subsidiary (VINCI Construction), finished building 38,500 sq. metres of diaphragm walls in early March 2012. In addition to these works, carried out using a Hydrofraise, the company created the access route for the TBM, and four underground stations (Allbrook, 5 de Mayo, Santo Tomás and Vía Argentina). In total, the project will result in 13 stations along a 13.7 km line running from the Los Andes station, in the north of the city, via the historic centre and the banking district, to the Albrooken neighbourhood. Entry into service is scheduled for 2014.
