Demolition of Ambarès bridge on LGV SEA route

On the SEA high-speed line (LGV) worksite near Bordeaux (west of France), Navarra TS (VINCI Construction Terrassement) has demolished the old bridge on the RD 1010 at Ambarès. Launched on 8 May after two months of preparation, the operation was completed in just 35 hours. It involved removing the structure’s deck, previously sawn into four sections, with the help of a 700 t crane – a task complicated by the presence of the catenaries of active SNCF railway lines just 20 cm below the deck.
