Demolition and ground consolidation in north of France

The City of Lille (north of France), which is implementing a policy of urban regeneration in its southern neighbourhoods, is to build a swimming pool near the city's teaching hospital. The preparatory works have been awarded to Soletanche Bachy France, a Soletanche Freyssinet subsidiary (VINCI Construction). These will involve consolidating the site – a former chalk quarry – using injection techniques, after demolition of the existing buildings by Cardem (Eurovia). The works are due to start in March 2013 and will last four months. Contract value: €1.6m. In addition, Soletanche Bachy France will undertake ground consolidation works in early 2013 at two other sites in the Lille suburbs: Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes School, in Ronchin, and the Rue du Pavé du Moulin, in Hellemmes.
