Construction of the Łukasiewicz Science Centre in Tajęcin
13 December 2019 - New contracts - Poland
Warbud (VINCI Construction International Network) has been selected to design and build the Łukasiewicz scientific centre, located 300 km to the south of Warsaw, which will be the country’s second science centre after the Copernicus centre in Warsaw, also built by Warbud.
The 6,500 m² building, with a volume of 40,000 m3 and a maximum height of 19.5 m, will comprise windows containing invisible photovoltaic cells that will produce electricity. With its futuristic shape reminiscent of a planetary orbit, this 4-storey structure will be able to accommodate 200 interactive exhibits. The design phase will last 10 months and the entire installation will be completed in May 2022.
