Construction of a viaduct in Buenos Aires

In Buenos Aires, Freyssinet (VINCI Construction) was involved until May 2019 in the construction of the future San Martín raised viaduct, manufacturing and supplying 359 box girders in prestressed concrete for the entire length of the structure.

In order to produce all the girders on time, a 475 m-long prefabrication plant was set up in less than two months. The new viaduct will elevate the railway line over a distance of more than 5 km, with three or four parallel tracks available for traffic on certain sections. An integral part of the plan to improve the capital’s transport infrastructure, it will reduce the number of accidents involving vehicles and pedestrians at level crossings, reduce traffic in the streets and increase the frequency of trains.
