Conservation efforts alongside a motorway

Recreated in 1999 by Escota (VINCI Autoroutes) in the course of building the stretch of the A51 between Sisteron and La Saulce (south-east France), the humid area of Les Piles (6.5 ha) was the subject of a partnership agreement signed on 25 April 2012 with the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur bird protection league (LPO). Under this agreement, Escota has entrusted the LPO, for a period of five years, with the management, conservation, enhancement and pedagogical operation of this site as a contribution to the conservation of its flora, fauna and natural habitats.
