Completion of the Escondida project

Geocean (Entrepose/VINCI Construction), as part of a joint venture including Soletanche Bachy Chile and Bessac (also VINCI Construction subsidiaries), completed the maritime works of the Escondida Water Supply project in the Antofagasta region, in northern Chile, in December 2016.

The project involved creating two water intakes and one discharge line, using microtunnelers, for a seawater desalination plant. This will supply fresh water to the copper mine operated by BHP Billiton.
