Breakthrougn in the Saverne Tunnel !
25 February 2013 - New contracts - France
On the project for the second phase of the LGV Est Europe high-speed line, the TBM Charlotte finished driving the second tube of the Saverne Tunnel, in the Vosges Mountains, on 25 February 2013. 7,722 m of tunnel have thus been driven, with a particularly remarkable rate of progress being achieved in the 30 days of November 2012, when 1,014 m of tunnel were driven, thus beating the previous European record using a machine of the same type. Work has just started on fitting out the tubes, the installation of safety equipment (lighting, communications, fire protection network, ventilation, fire doors and central management system) and creating the inter-tube connections. The tunnel is due to be completed in December 2013. This project forms part of works package 47, being implemented by a consortium notably comprising Dodin Campenon Bernard (leader), VINCI Construction Terrassement, Campenon Bernard Dodin Ingénierie (VINCI Construction), GTM Alsace and GTM Lorraine (VINCI Construction France), as well as Cegelec Mobility (VINCI Energies GSS) and Cegelec Lorraine Alsace (VINCI Energies France).
Total contract value: €184m.
