11 May 2012 - Projects update and handover - France

The new stadium in Le Havre, built by a consortium composed of Sogea Nord-Ouest and Botte Fondations (VINCI Construction France subsidiaries) and Soletanche Bachy Pieux, a Soletanche Freyssinet subsidiary (VINCI Construction), was handed over on 21 May 2012. This new, 25,000-seat facility will host the matches of HAC (Havre Athletic Club), the resident football club, currently in League 2, but also other sporting and cultural events. An "English-style" stadium, with the stands very close to the pitch, the perimeter is covered with a bluish, translucent polymer membrane, by turns transparent or opaque, which allows the light to filter through. Thanks to 1,500 sq. metres of photovoltaic sensors on the roof, it will be the first positive-energy stadium in France. Launched in July 2010, the works have taken 22 months to complete. The formal inauguration is scheduled for 12 July 2012. Total project value: €150 million, of which €80 million for VINCI Construction.
