Adding extra storeys on an occupied site
1 August 2014 - New contracts - France
Ducloux (Arbonis), a subsidiary of VINCI Construction France, has secured the wood works package on a project to increase the height of two four-storey buildings erected in the 1970s in Vélizy-Villacoublay (Paris region). This pioneering operation, a first in France, involves creating two additional storeys with a light structure (thanks to the use of wood), which will accommodate a total of 71 new homes. The aim is to achieve HEQ certification. Ducloux is supplying the two timber-frame levels, the framework and the insulating roof panels, the timber framework on the existing façades and the zinc cladding panels on battens. In total, 4,918 sq. metres of timber-frame façades are in course of being installed.
Value of the wood works package: €1.7m.
