A new generation plant for Eurovia
13 December 2019 - Sustainability - France
This autumn, in the commune of Sainte-Suzanne-et-Chammes (north-eastern France), Pays de Loire Enrobés (Eurovia) inaugurated its new Chammes Enrobés asphalt mixing plant.
The technical advances reflected there are mainly environmental in nature. The aim is to reduce the carbon impact of asphalt production by using less natural resources (granulate and bitumen) thanks to an increased reliance on asphalt aggregate (up to 50% instead of 20% in the old plant); by reducing energy consumption (gas having replaced heavy fuel oil) thanks to savings made in the drying of materials (construction of two hangars); by the optimisation of rainwater management thanks to the recovery of water from the roof and its use in the production process and for spraying walkways; and by the reduction of noise, odours and dust emissions thanks to the covering over of the entire plant.
