A Nelson Mandela square in Grenoble
11 April 2015 - Events - France
On 11 April 2015, in Grenoble (south-east of France), Place Nelson Mandela (formerly Place Ovale) was inaugurated in the presence of Eric Piolle, the city’s mayor, and Rapu Molekane, the South African ambassador in France. The square was renamed on the occasion of the works to extend Line B of the tramway and the installation, in the centre of the square, of two elliptical pools in black waxed concrete with a total surface area of 1,250 sq. metres. The civil engineering for these structures was supplied, on behalf of the SEM (semi-public company) Innovia, by Perino Bordone (Eurovia).
