A dyke amidst the vineyards
1 June 2014 - New contracts - France
In order to protect itself from flooding caused by high water levels in the Rhône and Cèze rivers, the village of Codolet (south of France) is to completely surround itself with a perimeter protective dyke (length: 2.5 km; height: 3 m). Its construction has been awarded to a consortium comprising Campenon Bernard Sud-Est and Sogea Sud (VINCI Construction France subsidiaries), which has entrusted Soletanche Bachy (Soletanche Freyssinet/VINCI Construction) with the creation of a 4.5 m-deep Trenchmix wall that will serve as an anchorage for the dyke.
The works began in May 2014 and will last 8 months. Contract value: €8.4 m.
