16 September 2013 - Projects update and handover - France

The 17 km section of the A9 between the Perpignan Nord and Perpignan South exits was brought into service on a 2x3-lane basis on 28 June 2013. Headed by the Perpignan operations division of ASF (VINCI Autoroutes), at its peak this project employed more than 200 people. Worth €220m, this first phase of the upgrading of the A9 will help to improve traffic flow and safety on this extremely busy road. Widening operations will resume this autumn between Perpignan Sud and Le Boulou, on a 15 km stretch due to come into service in late 2016.
