A9 Motorway - Fun weekend for the public

Prior to its upcoming opening to traffic, the new A9 motorway by Montpellier (south of France) was opened to the general public for a rather different purpose on 8 and 9 April 2017.

Almost 12,000 people including many families came along to inspect the new road and enjoy the sunshine and the friendly atmosphere, on foot, on bikes, on scooters or even inline skates. And a charity race was organised, with the funds raised benefiting several local associations.
