A joint venture composed of Sogea-Satom, LSE (VINCI Construction International Network) and Freyssinet (VINCI Construction) has won the contract for the rehabilitation of the wharf in Kpémé, to the east of Lomé.

Teams from Bourdarios (VINCI Construction France) are currently rehabilitating, on a general contracting basis, a department store in the centre of Toulouse – Au Capitole – on behalf of Primark, the retail brand specialising in low-cost clothing.

After one year of closing following the earthquake that hit New-Zealand in November 2016, the new coastal State Highway 1, north and south of Kaikoura, opened on December 15, 2017.

On 12 December, VINCI Immobilier announced the handover of the 20 connected houses of the Cérès residential development in Blagnac (south-west France), a project undertaken in partnership with La Poste, Legrand and Netatmo.

Developed by Adim Est (VINCI Construction France), the new aquatic complex in Reims (north-east France) will be built by GTM Hallé (leader), Sogea Picardie and Sotram, three VINCI Construction France subsidiaries.

Following its inauguration by the president of the Republic of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, the Santiago metro system’s new Line 6, created by ETF (Eurovia), is now in service.

Sogea-Satom (VINCI Construction International Network) is currently rehabilitating national highway 3 between Natitingou and Boukoumbé, in the north-west of the country.

The joint venture composed of Chantiers Modernes Construction (VINCI Construction France), leader, Freyssinet (VINCI Construction), Eurovia and Soleffi TS, with the support of Artelia Ville et Transports, is to design and implement works to rehabilitate and reinforce bridge No. 2 at Orly Airport. These will enable large aircraft to use the bridge.

As part of an urban regeneration project under way in Saint-Pierre, social landlord Semader has awarded S2R (VINCI Construction Dom-Tom) the Caserne operation, involving the rehabilitation of 73 occupied homes.

Until the end of December 2017, a Eurovia joint venture composed of Cognac TP (leader), Eurovia Niort and SEC TP will be working on a section of the A10 motorway (VINCI Autoroutes, ASF network) by the Niort Sud exit (western France) – an area where the water resources have been identified as being extremely vulnerable.

In the La Défense business district near Paris, Sogea TPI (VINCI Construction France) has completed the engineering structure and concrete slab on which the Trinity high rise will be built and Bateg, also a VINCI Construction France subsidiary, has started construction of the building itself.

A joint venture comprising Sogea Réunion (VINCI Construction Dom-Tom), Poma, Sodiparc, Egis, Atelier Architectes, Richez-Associés and ISR has been awarded a contract by the CINOR (intercommunal structure in the north of Reunion Island) for the design, construction, upkeep and maintenance of an urban cable-car system in Saint-Denis.

To relieve congestion at one of the busiest intersections in the Burkina Faso capital, the Ministry of Infrastructure has appointed Sogea-Satom (VINCI Construction International Network) to build Ouagadougou’s northern interchange, located in the centre of the city.

VINCI Highways (VINCI Concessions), via its UTS subsidiary, has just secured a 10-year contract for the operation of further sections – 359 km in total – of the motorway linking Moscow and St. Petersburg.

After undertaking several operations in connection with the construction of the Paris region tram lines T3 and T6, Valentin (Eurovia) is currently engaged in re-routing networks in the towns of Ivry-sur-Seine, Vitry-sur-Seine, Thiais, Choisy and Orly, by Paris, in preparation for the creation of Line T9.

Bitumix (Eurovia) will complete coastal development works in the port town of Caldera, in the Atacama region of northern Chile, in late 2017.

It’s a first! Within the framework of the East works package on the Thames Tideway Tunnel project, currently being implemented by a joint venture composed of VINCI Construction Grands Projets, Bachy Soletanche (VINCI Construction) and Costain, since late summer 2017 an electric Hydrofraise® has been at work creating the walls of the shafts at the Chambers Wharf, Deptford Church Street and King Edward Memorial Park sites.

A joint venture led by Eurovia Morlaix is currently completing the development of the public spaces of the new multimodal transport hub in Morlaix (Brittany).

in Montreal Eurovia Quebec is collaborating with Communauto, the self-service car operator in Quebec, for the launch of the first connected parking spaces in Montreal.

In Normandy, teams from VINCI Construction Terrassement – as leader of the VINCI joint venture –, VINCI Construction Maritime et Fluvial and TPC (VINCI Construction France subsidiaries) and ALZEO Environnement are clearing the bed of a 13 km stretch of the Sélune (a coastal river flowing into the bay of Mont Saint-Michel) in the reservoir area upstream from the Vezins hydroelectric dam, built in 1931.

In Brest (Brittany), the joint venture notably comprising VINCI Construction Maritime et Fluvial (leader), VINCI Construction Terrassement, Menard and GTM Ouest (all VINCI Construction subsidiaries) is currently constructing a polder, in part won from the sea, that will be used for renewable marine energies.

Within the framework of the project to build the new exhibition centre in Toulouse (south-west France), the Eurovia Toulouse office is undertaking the earthworks on the site of the future building as well as the access infrastructure works.

SDEL Navis (VINCI Energies International & Systems) has secured a contract with STX France for the wiring of the next seven ships to be built at the STX yard in Saint-Nazaire: four EDGE class ships for shipowner RCCL and three Méraviglia class ships for shipowner MSC.

On 30 October 2017, VINCI Highways (VINCI Concessions) brought into service the first phase of the Regina Bypass project in Canada in a ceremony attended by David Marit, Minister of Highways and Infrastructure, regional elected representatives and the project teams.

Following its delivery of the extension to the Niroth plant in Phnom Penh in early 2017, this summer VINCI Construction Grands Projets signed a further contract for the Cambodian capital with PPWSA, the Phnom Penh water authority.

As part of the total renovation of the Temple-Écrins refuge hut, located, at an altitude of 2,410 m, in the commune of Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans (south-eastern France), Perino Bordone (Eurovia) is undertaking works in connection with the hut’s drinking-water supply and wastewater treatment on behalf of the French federation of alpine and climbing clubs.

On 27 October 2017, Frédéric Perissat, prefect of the Landes department (south-west France), and Pierre Coppey, chairman of VINCI Autoroutes, formally launched the project to widen the A63 between Ondres and Saint- Geours-de-Maremne, a major 27 km-long development being undertaken within the framework of the French Motorway Plan.

The Pobeda Arena (pobeda means victory in Russian) is a major sports facility, currently under construction in Volgograd, that will host numerous matches during the 2018 Football World Cup. Over the summer of 2017, teams from Freyssinet (VINCI Construction) assembled the cable roof and lifted it into place.

Initiated by Lamsac, the company holding the concession for the Lima ring road, operated since 2016 by VINCI Highways (VINCI Concessions), Rugby para todos (Rugby for all) is a socialisation-through-sport programme aimed at transmitting the positive values and beneficial effects of the discipline to young people from disadvantaged neighbourhoods in the Peruvian capital.

VINCI Construction France has just handed over the U Arena in Nanterre, by Paris, the biggest covered adaptable facility in Europe which, for its first inaugural concert, on 19 October, welcomed the Rolling Stones.

On 20 and 21 October 2017, members of ASFA (French motorway operators’ association), together with interdepartmental road authorities (DIRs), are working to make the general public more aware of the need to ensure the safety of road and motorway workers throughout France. VINCI Autoroutes and its Foundation for Responsible Driving are very much involved in this national event.

Campus Agro, a project company created by AgroParisTech, Inra and the Caisse des Dépôts, signed a contract on 2 October 2017 with the joint venture led by VINCI Construction France and Engie Cofely for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the future Paris region campus of AgroParisTech and Inra.

Between 25 September and 13 October 2017, Eurovia’s Nice office undertook a resurfacing campaign on the A8 motorway (VINCI Autoroutes, Escota network), in both traffic directions, between the Saint-Isidore toll barrier and the Canta-Galet tunnel.

The 5 km-long section of the D3 motorway located between Veselí nad Lužnicí and Bošilec (in the south of the country), built by Eurovia CS, was inaugurated on 12 October 2017.

On 12 July 2017, a PSA Group autonomous vehicle passed through the Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines toll plaza (VINCI Autoroutes network), the biggest in Europe, without any driver intervention, thanks to a specific communication established between the vehicle and the infrastructure.

Designed, financed, built and operated by VINCI under a concession agreement that runs until 2061, the South Europe Atlantic high-speed line has enabled people to travel from Paris to Bordeaux in just two hours since it was commissioned in July 2017. It is the largest project the Group has ever worked on.

The South Europe Atlantic Tours–Bordeaux high-speed line, which VINCI built and is now operating, officially opened to traffic on Sunday 2 July 2017, marking the completion of the construction phase and the beginning of commercial operation.

During the International Economic Forum in St Petersburg (SPIEF 2017), Avtodor, the public company in charge of the management of Russia’s motorways, expanded its interoperability agreement with VINCI Highways, a subsidiary of VINCI Concessions.

In late June 2017, teams from Entrepose Contracting (VINCI Construction) lifted and installed the main stairway of storage tank Number 3 in Yamal.

Teams from the Mancuso earthworks centre of VINCI Construction Terrassement and Benedetti-Guelpa, a company that has recently become part of the Group, are working on behalf of the joint Isère/Arc en Combe de Savoie association within the framework of the Restoration of the Bed of the Isère operation.

Created by a joint venture composed of VINCI companies, the extension to Bordeaux Saint-Jean station (west of France) has been opened to users two months ahead of the arrival of the Sud Europe Atlantique high- speed line (HSL).

Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport is now certified ACA 3+ ‘carbon neutral’, i.e. the most advanced level of the programme for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions set up by the ACI (Airports Council International).

In Le Havre (Normandy), Sogea Nord-Ouest (VINCI Construction France), as co-contracting authority with the Seine Estuary CCI on behalf of the urban community, is preparing to erect the building that will house the Normandy School of Management (SM) and the Digital City.

The Roland Garros tennis stadium complex in Paris is being extended and modernised under a programme managed by VINCI Construction France. The project’s phasing is highly unusual, with a pause each year for the French Open tennis tournament to be played. Work recently started on the second phase and redevelopment work will end in 2020 with the inauguration of the new Philippe Chatrier court, complete with retractable roof.

Following five years of works under VINCI Autoroutes programme management, the new section of the A9 motorway at Montpellier has just been opened more than six months ahead of the original schedule. The opening capped France’s largest motorway project in recent years. VINCI Autoroutes financed the €800 million investment and more than 300 companies and 1,500 people were involved in the project during the peak construction period.

In Mayotte, France Télévisions has just awarded SMTPC (VINCI Construction Dom-Tom) the construction, on a general contracting basis, of the new headquarters of news channel Mayotte 1ère.

Actemium Controlmatic Berlin (VINCI Energies Europe) has been awarded, by Elpro GmbH, the electrical assembly and instrumentation works for a new combined cycle power plant in the Bay of Kiel which is destined to supply the city.

In a joint venture with Cegelec New Caledonia (VINCI Energies France), Epureau and Madea Concept, SCB (VINCI Construction Dom-Tom) is building the Magenta aquatic centre for the city of Nouméa, in New Caledonia. Extending over some 6,000 sq. metres, the complex will notably feature five pools, including a 25 m swimming pool, an artificial wave and an area with a slide.

Having contributed to the design and implementation planning for the foundations and infrastructure of the future Alto tower in La Défense, by Paris, the teams at the France Nord office of Soletanche Bachy France (VINCI Construction) have been appointed to supply the foundation works, with the tower to be erected by Bouygues Bâtiment Île-de-France.

Eurovia Contracting North was selected to start ECI negotiations (Early Contractor Involvement, a form of contract involving the company in the design and planning phase of a project, at the end of which the cost of the works is agreed jointly) with Leicestershire County Council with a view to undertaking a programme of structural repairs for road bridges.

A joint venture composed of Cardem Paris (Eurovia), leader, Eurovia Massy and Demathieu Bard is implementing the preparatory works, on behalf of Aéroports de Paris, for the construction of the future Orly Airport station, which by 2024 will serve as the terminus of Lines 14 and 18 of the Grand Paris Express network.

In Warsaw, Soletanche Polska (VINCI Construction) is involved in the project to upgrade a site of almost 5 hectares on which the Młociny retail and leisure centre is to be built.

The Duo buildings will soon tower 180 and 122 metres high in Masséna, a neighbourhood straddling southern Paris and neighbouring Ivry, and were created by Ateliers Jean Nouvel. The ground-breaking ceremony took place on 18 May and VINCI Construction France will be leading the construction work.

LUMA Arles, the 10-hectare cultural campus created by the LUMA Foundation, will open to the public in 2018. It comprises a park, six industrial buildings and a sculpture-like tower.

On 11 May 2017, VINCI Construction and Sunpartner Technologies announced the launch of Horizon Energy, a photovoltaic curtain wall forming part of the façades of buildings to produce energy.

From 12-14 May 2017, VINCI Energies organised its first hackathon at La Factory, its new space dedicated to innovation in La Défense, by Paris.

March 2017 saw Dumez Maroc (VINCI Construction International Network) hand over the new fishing port in Casablanca, a project forming part of a total redevelopment of the port area.

VINCI is at the centre of the challenges facing the city of the future, and involved in the conversation about urban transformation, inter alia through La Fabrique de la Cité, its in-house think-tank. And it is tackling those challenges and making the transformation happen in Plaine Commune, a nine-town community and part of the Grand Paris programme. The Group is leading Rêve de scènes urbaines (“dreams of urban scenes”, an industrial demonstrator for sustainable cities) as part of a joint venture between public- and private-sector players to test trailblazing solutions, promote urban innovation and showcase French savoir-faire.

UTS, a VINCI Highways subsidiary, has won the contract to operate and maintain a new segment – a 70 km-long section just to the west of Moscow – of the M3 motorway, which runs between Moscow and the Ukrainian border.

Sogea Atlantique BTP/VINCI Construction France has won the major works package (structural works, envelope and finishing works) for the construction of the two buildings that will form the new hospital in Le Mans (north-western France).

On the outskirts of Reims, teams from VINCI Construction Terrassement’s Champagne-Ardenne centre, in association with Edivert, are creating a 10-hectare artificial wetland as part of the Azhurev project (development of a wetland in Reims for purification and living beings).

To the north of Paris, on the project to extend the metro’s Line 12, teams from Chantiers Modernes Construction, Botte Fondations, Sogea TPI (all VINCI Construction France) and Dodin Campenon Bernard are building two new underground stations: Aimé Césaire and Mairie d’Aubervilliers.

Trialled for six months at Avignon North, on the A7 motorway, contactless payment is now possible at ten toll sites on the VINCI Autoroutes network, and is due to be gradually rolled out to the rest of the network between now and the end of 2017.

Ocidim and SBTPC (both VINCI Construction Dom-Tom) are currently working on the Mascarin residential project in La Possession, on Reunion Island.

VINCI Energies Transport et Transformation d’Energie and VINCI Energies Maroc (VINCI Energies International & Systems) have won the contracts for four works packages concerning 225-kV overhead power lines extending 1,000 km across Senegal, Guinea-Conakry, Guinea-Bissau and the Gambia.

As part of the federal government’s noise reduction programme for the German rail network, the Teco Schallschutz office of Eurovia Germany has been appointed to create nine noise barriers (height: 2 - 3 m; length: 6.6 km) at Bottrop (North Rhine-Westphalia).

On the project to build liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tanks led by the Entrepose Contracting - VINCI Construction Grands Projets joint venture at Yamal, in Siberia, a further key stage was completed in late December 2016 with the lifting, and placing in position on the roofs of the No. 1 and No. 2 tanks, of the platforms and pipe racks prefabricated at the Kaliningrad site.

Late December 2016 saw Probisa (Eurovia) teams complete works aimed at improving the link between the A30 motorway, connecting Madrid and Murcia, and the A7, which runs along the Mediterranean coast to link Barcelona with the south of the country.

GTM Bâtiment Aquitaine (VINCI Construction France) handed over its rehabilitation, on an occupied site, of the 530 homes in the Grand Parc complex in Bordeaux (west of France) at the end of 2016, after more than two-and-a-half years of works.
